This Search Directory script has been made free of charge to all
interested in using its power. This is considered Free Software and you may use
or modify at your at your own risk.
DevCoder has developed a Search Directory that is capable of building
a Yahoo / Dmoz style Directory and use powerful boolean search functionality
to find the most relevant results in the directory.

2) Dependencies:

- MySQL 4.01 or newer
this version of mysql is now pretty common but if you need to find the
latest version please check.

3) Installation Instructions

1 Uncompress devdir tarball or zip file into directory.
2 if you are using a suexec or user execute enviroment on a server make
sure the user has ownership of the directory and all files by using
command such as "chown -R devdir:devdir directory"
3 if you are using a non suexec enviroment and scripts get executed as
nobody or the user of apache, please chmod 777 DEVDIR.pm and DB.pm for
the install.cgi script to set the variables.
4 run install.cgi from the website,
example: http://www.testdirectory.com/directory/install.cgi
5 Adjust the BASE URL and UNIX PATH Fields unless they default settings
are correct.
6 Enter in the MySQL Connection Settings into the MySQL fields, this is
required in order to tell DevDir where the Database is located and to
login to the database.
7 Enter in a username and password for the Control Panel unless you want
to use the default values which would be a security concern for your
directory.
8 Now you should be able to login to the Control Panel which the
link would have been provided upon success of install.cgi
